Summer in the Scripture, week two

The last couple of weeks I have noticed a Spirit of tenderness in our church, and I think a lot of you have noticed it as well. I think it’s a result of the church body getting into God’s word through the “Summer in the Scriptures.”  Anytime a group of people gets into God’s word , He will begin to move among us, first as individuals,  then corporately as a church. Also I can feel a spirit of prayer that can be seen as our altars begin to fill as they have the past two Sundays. Once we humble ourselves as a church before the Lord,  we will see God work through Heartland as never before.

In Matthew 28: 19, the great commission tells us to go and make disciples of all nations. We can’t do that until we have met with Jesus.  In verse 16 of chapter 28, the eleven disciples met with Jesus when they went to the mountain that He had directed them to. God through those eleven men changed the world.

Keep listening to the word and let’s see where God takes us.

Summer in the Scriptures

Good morning Everyone, I’m excited about going through the New Testament together as a church.

It had been over 400 years since Israel had heard from God, I’m glad that we have His word and the Holy Spirit that we can read and hear from everyday. As you listen to Matthew, notice how many Old Testament  prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus’s life and ministry. While Matthew was writing  primarily to the Jews to show that Jesus was the Messiah, he also makes it clear that the Messiah had come for all people.

Remember to listen to the Word and EXPECT to hear from GOD.

Have a great week,

Rick
